Welcome Henner Nehles to the Smith Stearns Team!

A note from our Academy Director, BJ Stearns, about the hiring of Henner Nehles as the Director of Player Development for Smith Stearns.

Dear Smith Stearns Families,

We are proud to announce that we have added another valuable member to our Smith Stearns team. Henner Nehles has recently accepted the position to be our Director of Player Development here at Smith Stearns Tennis Academy.

Henner comes to Smith Stearns with an accomplished background as a player and as a coach to many top junior and professional players including Jelena Jankovic and Sam Querrey. Most recently, Henner was employed as a Lead National Coach for the United States Tennis Association working with many of their top junior prospects including Kayla Day and Amanda Anisimova. In the past few years he has coached players that have won the US Open Juniors, Eddie Herr, Easter Bowl, and the USTA National Championships. Henner received a very high honor from the USTA when he was named the TEAM USA Developmental Coach of the Year in 2016.

Henner is really looking forward to joining our team and making an impact on our student’s young careers. He will officially start his new position on August 13th.

We are all very excited about Henner and hope you will all make him feel at home right away!

Sincerely,

BJ Stearns
